EDARA E NOORUL HUDA-

 EDARA E NOORUL HUDA- MELVISHARAM

In 1983, National library was established by Janab Sakvai Ifthikhar Ahmed Sahib, Malack Mujeer Ahmed Sahib, Trup Ameen Ahmed Sahib and Karpoor Azeemuddin Sahib. It was the first organisation formed in those days. Later at the suggestion of Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Yaqoob Sahib (Rah.) Edara-e-Noorul-Huda was established and the National Library was converted into  Noorul Islam Library. After consulting Janab Mana Muna Abdul Kareem Sahib, the Edara got its permanent office at Rifah E Aam complex at S.H.A Street, a separate section was allotted for the library.

Islamic books, audio cassettes of Tafsir, and Bayans by reputed Ulamas were issued free of cost. The library had a huge and rare collection of Islamic books. Up to 2010, the library quenched the thirst of readers. Based on the suggestion of Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Yaqoob Sahib, this Idara restarted  Tafsirul Quran at Pakthini Mosque. Hazrath Moulana Zaheer Ahmed Sahib Baqwi (Presently, serving as the Principal of Madarsa E Mifthahul Uloom) conducted weekly Tafseer for nearly five years. Hazrath refused to get Hadiya for this noble task.

Later, the Tafseer sessions of Mufti Riyaz Ahmed Sahib, held every week on Monday after Maghrib prayers. The librarian of the Idara would record tafseer for the convenience of absentees. Similarly, audio cassettes of the monthly Bayans by Hazrath Moulana Kalambur Mohammed Yacoob Sahib were also available. Later, these audio cassettes were very helpful in compiling Khutbaat E Visharam Volumes I, II, and III.

During early 1990s, when dish connection was launched for the first time in Melvisharam, this idara organised an Islahe Ma'ashira Majlis in which Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Yaqoob Sahib delivered a bayan after Maghrib prayers at the Pakthini mosque.  He spoke on the ill effects of watching T. V., advised not  to  waste time in watching films and also insisted not to involve in any such evil acts. Later, a printed version of this bayan  was circulated among the public. In those days, Janab Patnam Thyub Sahib was an active member of this Idara who also had close contacts with Hazrath.

Readers would borrow books and audio cassettes on a weekly basis. In Melvisharam, the Edara was the first to introduce the Bayans of Hazrath Moulana Riyazur Rahman Sahib Bangalori (Jamia Masjid City Market), Qari Haneef Sahib, and Hazrath Moulana Aabid Miyan Sahib of Hyderabad, which still reverberate in our ears.

Through these audio cassettes, ladies of our town also listened to these valuable bayans. Frankly speaking, it was the ladies who took maximum benefit from the edara e noorul Islam Library. I frequently borrowed the audio cassettes of Hazrath Moulana Riyazur Rahman Sahib Rashadi Bangalori at the request of my mother. Same was the case with other members.  Everyone would eagerly wait for a new release.

The masjid at Perumagai which was a thatch mosque was completely build in its present form by edara e noorul huda by collecting donations from philanthropist of our town.

This association also meets the expenses of few mosques in Arcot and some nearby localities of Visharam. Janab Pakthini Mohammed Irfan Sahib, Janab Pakthini Mohammed Nadeem Sahib, Janab Mara Abdul Kareem Sahib, Janab Vaverthar Mohammed Ameen Sahib, Janab Pakthini Mohammed Faheem Sahib, Janab Sakvai Abrar Ahmed Sahib,  Janab Vadakatti Ashfaque Ahmed Sahib and Janab Tiruppa Ameen Ahmed Sahib are a few of its members now.

I personally thank everyone associated with this edara.

May Allah accept their services and bless them all.

Here I would like to record the opinion of Dr. Kottur Mohammed Abrar (Associate  Professor, Department of English, CAH COLLEGE MELVISHARAM) who was a long-time member of edara's library. He says,

"Noorul Islam Library was one of the oldest libraries of our town. I used to visit the library in my school days. We were encouraged by our teachers to read books on various subjects. Since we had time table of the day,  we allotted plenty of time for reading books. The library had Deeni Books such as History of Islam, Biography of Eminent Islamic Personality, Audio Record of Sermon (Bayans) and so on. I borrowed books on Conquest of Baitul Maqdis by Salahuddeen Ayyubi(Rah) and came to know how intellectually strong he was. I also learned about our freedom fighter Tipu Sultan (Rah) and how he was betrayed by his own personal minister. We, the gents had plenty of chances to listen Sermons rendered by Scholars at mosque. But our ladies had less opportunity. The library played a vital role in filling the gap. As long as my memory goes,  I never missed to borrow the Audio Record of Monthly Sermon given by Hazrath Moulana Mohammed Yaqoob sahib (Rah). Actually it was compulsion from the ladies of my family that made me to borrow those cassettes. I still remember that my family members after finishing their household chores would assemble and listen the bayan with due respect."
